Ed Kelly is a native of "The Constitution State" where he grew up in a traditional Irish Catholic family. (Which simply means lots of brothers & sisters). Five brothers & four sisters to be exact. Ed began his now 35 year long radio career in Connecticut, where he worked first at a couple of small local stations and then spent several years as a broadcaster on great Connecticut radio stations like WRCH, WDRC & WWYZ. Then, after a seven year stint at WMAS in Springfield, Massachusetts (where he also held the position of Program Director) Ed was on his way to Rutland….(after getting out a map to see just where the heck it was!). That was in 1993 and Ed & his wife Fran found it to be the perfect place to raise their two kids….(Ed wanted eight more…but Fran said something about him having to give birth so two it is!). As a morning show host Ed's voice has been waking up the listeners of Rutland County & the surrounding areas for more than12 years. First on Z-97 and then for the last couple of years as the morning voice of WJJR. Now he gets to sleep in a bit later…..but you can hear him each afternoon from 3-7 here at 94.5 The Drive.
